Reminiscent of the early days in the colonies, this apothecary cabinet represents an authentic part of American tradition. Once used in apothecary shops, each drawer contained an herb or root to be used in the filling of medical prescriptions. Today, the apothecary cabinet can serve a variety of purposes. The neat little drawers can be used to organize sewing and craft supplies, kitchen essentials, scarves and mittens, or dining room accessories. Construction is simple and material costs are low. Finish with a dark walnut stain on pine, add porcelain knobs and you will have a fine piece of furniture.
